Coprinus Domesticus is larger than the similar Coprinus Micaceus (Glistening ink cap) and often mistaken for Coprinus Micaceus. An identifying feature of Coprinus Domesticus is the 'Rusty' colored carpet (Hyphal mat or Ozonium) that the fruiting body grows from, these strands will often pull up with the fruiting body when picked, looking like a 'carpet' attached to the stipe. Coprinus Domesticus is considered inedible. Grows in limited clusters, often trooping closely, on or near decaying wood.
